Chapter #75 History |
| The Troy University Chapter of the Gamma Beta Phi Society was established on November 10, 1975. Since the inception of the Distinguished Chapter Award by Gamma Beta Phi, the TUM chapter has continuously been a recipient. Gamma Beta Phi at TUM is active at the university. Our members assist with Graduation and New Student Orientation. Gamma Beta Phi is there to welcome each student when he or she arrives at TUM and is there to see each student on their way. Gamma Beta Phi is also active with the community. We are a service organization. We have participated as tutors, in walk-a-thons, in drives for the Family Sunshine Center, etc. Since many of our members are also parents, we are active in PTA, Little League, and many other activities. Gamma Beta Phi is an organization which is dedicated to service, scholarship, and character. Although we emphasize educational excellence in our membership, our focus also includes service and character. We are not just another name on a resume*. Business meetings include member induction, officer election, and officer installation. Gamma Beta Phi members have the unique honor of electing the Teacher of the Year for TUM. The award is presented at the June Graduation. The Teacher of the Year is the keynote speaker at the November induction. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Student Affairs Office. A chapter office will get back with you.
